Our mission is to first acknowledge how amazing your child is, learn about their likes, dislikes, what they're good at, what they enjoy doing, etc. We want to know about your child, not only their diagnosis. Upon assessment and enrollment we go above and beyond in not only providing a detailed, personalized treatment plan for your child, but also pairing them with the perfect Registered Behavior Technician to enhance success in their treatment plan.
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), also known as Behavioral Engineering, is a scientific discipline that applies the principles of learning—based on respondent and operant conditioning—to create meaningful changes in behavior.
At The Owen Academy, our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) use ABA therapy to observe, assess, and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs. Our goal is to equip children with the skills they need to navigate social settings, enhance communication, and build independence in daily life.
ABA therapy is not daycare. Our children and therapists work diligently each day to develop essential life skills, with a focus on improving overall quality of life for both the child and their caregivers.
Our team consists of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are certified in ABA and credentialed with each respective insurance provider. RBTs work directly with our children, collecting data throughout each session while receiving continuous supervision and guidance from our BCBAs. As children progress—or as new challenges arise—their treatment plans are adjusted accordingly.
ABA therapy can range from 12 to 40 hours per week, depending on the child’s needs. The appropriate number of therapy hours is determined through a comprehensive assessment conducted by one of our BCBAs, with final approval from the child’s insurance provider.
Early intervention is key. Obtaining an autism diagnosis as early as possible allows for ABA therapy to be introduced during the most critical developmental years—giving children the strongest foundation for long-term success.
